The annual seminar of the Israel Security Forum. ( Wednesday, June 10, 2009)
The Israeli Security Forum, founded in 1988, is a professional, non-profit organization. Its members, over 300 civilian security-department heads and security officers, stand in the forefront of Israel's Home Land security and the home front. It is they who are the first to arrive on the scene of every security incident, act of terror and threat; it is they who form the bulwark protecting the civilian front against crime and against terrorism; it is they who are expected to initiate that critical first response to security encounters; and they who interface with the state security agencies and organs. Within the Forum's members are the security managers of the hospitals, industries, public institutions, transportation, critical infrastructures, state and local authorities. Thus, they are tasked with a wide range of safety and security concerns encompassing the prevention of acts of terror and sabotage, planning for and coping with mass disasters, routine security and law-enforcement procedures, the training of personnel for safety and security functions, and liaising with the various components of the state's security and law-enforcement services.
